As an Engineer on the Core Services team Senior, you’ll be responsible for driving the development of one or more microservices written in Go. Must be able to Mentor Golang Developers. Our new core services are all built in Go with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS under the hood. We believe that high quality, well tested code is mission critical to our future success. We also believe in choosing the right tool for the job; you should be comfortable researching, writing, and discussing the pros and cons of architecture and design proposals with colleagues across the company.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to the technical system design and implementation of existing and greenfield Go microservices
• Advocate for the best technical solution
• Communicate excellently
• Write and maintain high quality, well tested code
• Gather product requirements from stakeholders and translate those into technical requirements
• Partner with your team, manager, and other engineering teams to deliver high quality solutions that adhere to industry best practices

Your Experience

• 5+ years as a Software Engineer
• RESTful APIs
• Microservices architecture
• A knack for writing clean, readable code
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications
• SQL databases
• Automated testing
• Git or other version control systems
• Golang is preferred but we will provide the opportunity to learn on the job
• Event stream processing such as Kafka is a plus
• GRPC is a plus
• Kubernetes, Helm, and Istio are a plus
